Jon Bernardoni

Jon Bernardoni became obsessed with food when he started cooking at his families Italian restaurant at the age of 15. After high school he attended culinary school at Joliet Junior College, and graduated towards the top of his class. Jon marched up the ladder in kitchens around north central Illinois. When he turned 21 he saw a movie called "Sideways" and became interested in wine, (more like obsessed.) He read about wine, tried as many different types of wine and bought more wine than any twenty something needed. In 2006, Jon became a head chef at a country club near Starved Rock State Park. It was an "enjoyable" job, because his kitchen was closed in January and February. This time off enabled him to attend a food and wine pairing class for chefs at the Culinary Institute of America in the Napa Valley.

Napa was Heaven for Jon. His week there was the best week of his life. He tasted more wine in one week than he had in his whole life. This experience helped Jon get his current job. The 23 year old is a Wine Consultant at a major retail store in the Chicago suburbs. Jon helps people find new wines to try and can offer food and wine pairings with his selections. He has a passion for food and wine that will never dissipate.
