So wouldn't it also be advantageous to serve your wine 1/3 full and in glasses with a larger circumference? It would expose more surface area of the liquid/wine to the outside air. So I would think you would enhance the aroma.

Wine drinking is an experience, I've been taught. To thoroughly enjoy the experience, let all your senses take part in it. Examine the wine after it's poured into the glass -- checking its color and clarity, then nose the wine and try to distinguish the different aromas. After sipping, let it roll to identify the tastes. Remember, each part of your tongue can sense a different taste. Finally, relax and savor the experience.
