BertK is on a distinguished road
Default Washington State winery Chateau Ste. Michelle coming to Tucson, Ariz. wine event

From a PR release I recently received -- sounds like a good event! :-)

TUCSON, Ariz. (November 20, 2007) – Dale Plumb, state manager for the
Western region of Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery, will attend the Gold Room’s
Winemaker’s Dinner at Westward Look Resort, Tuesday, December 11, 2007.
Diners will sample five hand-selected wines from Chateau Ste. Michelle of
Woodinville, Wash. The wines will be carefully matched with gourmet cuisine
created by Chef Jamie West. Guests will also have a chance to meet and visit
with Dale Plumb who is headquartered in Chandler, Ariz.

Chateau Ste. Michelle is the oldest winery in Washington state. It is
recognized for pioneering vinifera grape growing in the Columbia Valley. It
has received acclaim for its chardonnay, merlot, riesling and cabernet
wines. Chateau Ste. Michelle has been awarded “American Winery of the Year
2004” by Wine Enthusiast Magazine and “2005 Winery of the Year” by
Restaurant Wine Magazine.

The reception begins at 6:00 p.m., featuring hors d’oeuvres prepared by Chef
West. Seating for dinner will start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for this event are
$85 and include appetizers and a four-course dinner, all accompanied by
complementary wines. Live music will be provided by Joe Bourne. Reservations
are required and can be made by calling (520) 917-2930.

“Wine is the perfect complement to a meal,” said Jamie West, executive chef
of Westward Look Resort. “When the wine and the food are carefully paired,
the combination brings out new taste sensations that enhance the flavor of
both.”

Chef Jamie West oversees the culinary program at Westward Look Resort for
two restaurants, the Gold Room and Lookout Bar & Grille. Using the freshest
ingredients, brightest flavors and original presentations, Chef West
actively involves each guest by taking them on a culinary journey. A Tucson
native, West graduated from Catalina High School and the Culinary Institute
of America in New York.

The first Winemaker’s Dinner of the new year will be January 15, 2008 and
will feature wines from Heitz Wine Cellars of Napa Valley, Calif.

Westward Look Resort is set in the foothills of Tucson’s Santa Catalina
Mountains on 80 acres of pristine Sonoran Desert. The resort offers 244
suite-sized rooms, two award-winning restaurants, a chef’s garden, the
Sonoran Spa, eight tennis courts, desert hiking trails, on-site stables for
horseback riding and multiple pools. More information is available at
1-800-722-2500 and WestwardLook.com.
